Insider guide

Shopping Lakeside.

The story

Lakeside Shopping Center, at 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie, is the New Orleans area's largest mall, with Dillard's, Macy's and JCPenney anchoring more than 100 stores. It sits at N. Causeway Blvd just off I-10, about nine miles from Louis Armstrong International Airport, with parking on site.

It is where locals go for Apple and Sephora, and for the first Louisiana stores of brands like Aritzia, Alo Yoga, Mango and Garage.

What to Expect

The Dillard's wing is the new-brand corridor. Coach (Suite 14), the only full-price Coach store in Louisiana, opened there in 2026 across from Vuori (#107). Gorjana, next to Vuori, sells layering necklaces under $50 alongside 14k gold and diamond pieces, and Mango, its first Louisiana store, is across from the Arhaus furniture showroom (Ste 4). In the main mall, Aritzia opened its first Louisiana store, 9,200 square feet, on Aug 13, 2026, across from Kendra Scott. Alo Yoga's first Louisiana store (5,000 square feet) is near Center Court, with Free People (Suite 20) and Garage on either side.

On the Macy's side, lululemon has expanded to 6,200 square feet next to Apple and now carries women's running shoes, and Anthropologie moved here from Canal Place in late 2025, just outside Macy's. Macy's itself has three levels, with ear piercing on the first floor, gift registry on the third and a furniture and mattress gallery. Apple offers Genius Bar appointments and Apple Vision Pro demos, Sephora (Ste 74) does makeup services from $30 ($60 for a full face), and the LEGO Store (#72) stocks current sets and exclusives. Zara, JCPenney, The Royal Standard for home decor and The Engraving Co. for personalized gifts round it out.

Best Time to Visit

Most mall stores open 10am–7pm Monday to Thursday, 10am–8pm Friday and Saturday and 12–6pm Sunday. Dillard's opens at 11am (Mon–Sat 11am–8pm, Sun 12–6pm), and Macy's and JCPenney stay open latest, to 9pm Friday and Saturday. Apple opens at 11am on Sunday, an hour before most stores. For an early start, Café Du Monde opens at 9am Monday to Saturday.
